
GRITE’s official launch
The official launch of the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Territories of Extractivism (GRITE) will be held on Monday, May 7th at the University of Ottawa.
The goal of the event is to introduce our new research group to local academic, governmental, and non-governmental community members working on the topic of mining. Our objective is to foster research and education synergy and collaborations across sectors. In addition to informal networking conversations, Professor David Szablowski, founding member of the Extractive Industries Research Group (EIRG) at York University, will give a keynote address entitled, “From indigenous governance spaces to extractive territories: legal enclosure and the respatialization of rights in CSR governance”.
