JUBA WAJIIN: Resistance in Mexican Mountains
The Human Rights Research and Education Centre is pleased to partner with the Interdisciplinary Research Group on the Territories of Extraction (GRITE) to present:
JUBA WAJIIN: Resistance in Mexican Mountains
Join us to welcome FABIOLA MANCILLA, who will discuss the legal struggles of the Júba Wajiín Indigenous community in Mexico to fight for their rights to life, water and land. In 2011, the Mexican government granted two mining licenses to explore 80% of their territory, without any form of consultation. Ms. Mancilla is from the Tlachinollan Human Rights Center which represented the Júba Wajiín before Mexican courts.
All are welcome.
